In order to provide a safe and comfortable work environment for all members, Nebula enforces a zero-tolerance policy for the code of conduct. Violation of any of these policies constitutes violation of the membership agreement and is grounds for membership termination.
Key cards are non-transferable and should not be shared or loaned out at any time. If your card is misplaced or stolen, please notify Nebula staff immediately. There is a $35 replacement fee for key cards.
Nebula is a secure workspace; propping open doors compromises our security. All guests, deliveries, and tours must use the call box at 3407 S Jefferson. Do not allow anyone that you do not know into Nebula. Instead, please direct them to the call box.
Guests & Visitors
Feel free to bring your friends! After hours, however, guests are limited to 2 guests for drop in and desk members, and 4 guests for office members. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis when arranged in advance through our staff. Remember that you are responsible for your guests and their actions, and in all cases, guests must be accompanied by the member they are visiting. Unpermitted admittance of guests beyond the specified limit may be subject to a fine plus damages.
Nebula is a pet-friendly workspace. However, all pets must be cleaned up after, supervised at all times, and must not make excessive noise that bothers other members. You are responsible for any messes or damages caused by your pets. For your pet’s safety and the safety of others, please be sure that they are always on a leash.
We love kids, but we also need to respect the fact that this is a workspace and ensure a quiet, non-distracting work environment for all. No guests under the age of 21 are allowed inside the building after normal business hours (M-F, 9-5) except when accompanied by an adult to pick up mail or otherwise short visits. Guests under 21 are not allowed in drop-in work areas at any time. If you need to bring your child to a meeting during normal business hours, he/she must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children may consume food and drink in private office spaces but not in common areas.
It is our goal to ensure that all members, staff, and guests feel welcome and respected at Nebula. Joining Nebula means becoming part of a community of inclusion. We are committed to fostering an environment of mutual respect and tolerance, free of harassment. For purposes of this policy, harassment is any verbal, written, or physical conduct that is interpreted as threatening, intimidating, or coercing by another member or organization at Nebula. Verbal harassment includes comments that are offensive or unwelcome regarding a person’s national origin, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, body, disability, gender identity, or appearance, including epithets, slurs, and negative stereotyping. Nonverbal harassment includes distribution, display, or discussion of any written or graphic material that ridicules, denigrates, insults, belittles, or shows hostility, aversion, or disrespect toward an individual or group at Nebula or in the surrounding community.
First and foremost Nebula is a workplace, and we expect all members to act in a professional manner. While we encourage networking and community, unwelcome solicitation of any kind is prohibited. We also expect all members to respect our facility. Members are not permitted to sleep in the building. If you’re tired, please go home.
Common area furniture should not be moved without the permission and assistance of the Nebula staff. Similarly, borrowing of common area furniture is really rude. Please don’t be rude.
Reservations for Nebula’s meeting rooms + call rooms can be made through Nebula’s website. Refer to conference room usage guidelines and leave the space clean and ready for the next booking. Each membership type includes a specific number of conference room hours. Be courteous and don’t use more hours than you are allotted. All common areas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Large meetings need to be coordinated with and staffed by Nebula staff.
Be respectful and don’t talk too loudly in common areas. Don’t overload the trash cans; take large items to the blue dumpsters behind the building. Keep your items to yourself and don’t leave things unattended or leave personal items in common areas. Members are liable for their own possessions; Nebula is not liable for broken or stolen items.
Use the refrigerator, label your things, and throw them away when they get old. Don’t take anyone else’s food or drink. Nebula staff will clean out cabinets and the fridge at their discretion. If you use any of Nebula’s dishes or utensils, be sure to wash and dry them. Also, no popcorn.
For the comfort of others, incense, scented candles, burning of any kind, or other odor-producing items are not permitted. Similarly, any activities involving chemicals or other strong-smelling products are not allowed. Any smells that are strong enough that they can be detected from a common area or another office are too strong.
Use of the internet is included in your membership fees. Members are not permitted to download illegal items over the internet.
For memberships that include mail service: Nebula receives and sorts mail, but is not set up as a shipping facility. Pick up your packages in a timely manner and be mindful of Nebula’s storage capacity. Packages in excess of 50 pounds may be left on the loading dock or outside of the mailroom.
For office members: Each office has a capacity, specified under “Max. # of Members” on Page 1. The capacity varies by office between 2-5 people based on square footage. Additional members, in most cases, are permissible, subject to a monthly surcharge of $50/mo plus applicable key card fees.
